Dr Matthew Gibson
BM BS, MRCP, FRCR
Dr Gibson is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist in Berkshire.
He graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical school in 1986.
He then trained in general medicine in South Manchester and obtained MRCP in 1990.
Dr Gibson subsequently trained in General and Interventional Radiology at the prestigious radiology department at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington and achieved his FRCR in 1996.
Dr Gibson was appointed as Consultant Radiologist with an Interest in Interventional Radiology at Royal Berkshire Hospital in 1997. At the same time he joined Berkshire Imaging and has been practicing radiology privately in Berkshire for the last 23 years.
He has extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of Interventional Radiology whilst maintain a specialist interest in cross-sectional imaging including gastroenterology, gynaecology and oncology. His particular areas of interest include peripheral vascular/arterial intervention, venous intervention including vascular access (PICCS, Ports etc) and image guided biopsy.
He has published more than 100 research papers. He has held various management positions in the Royal Berkshire Hospital and is currently Clinical Lead for Vascular Services.
He has been Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at Spire Dunedin Hospital since 2018.
