Dr Archie Speirs

Dr Archie Speirs is a Consultant Radiologist and Lead for Interventional Radiology at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, where he has worked since his appointment in 2010.

He is a highly experienced general radiologist with particular expertise in interventional radiology, cardiovascular, spinal, urological and hepatobiliary imaging. He performs a wide range of image-guided procedures including varicocele embolisation, vertebroplasty, image-guided biopsies and drainages, and suprapubic catheter insertion.

Dr Speirs works closely within multidisciplinary teams in urology, hepatobiliary and spinal services, ensuring coordinated and evidence-based patient care.

He graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical Schoolin 1999. He completed general medical training in London and Sydney and became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2004. He undertook specialist radiology training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, achieving Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists in 2008.

He completed advanced interventional radiology fellowships at Guy’s and St Thomas’ (2008) and Imperial NHS Trust (2009) before being appointed Consultant Radiologist at the Royal Berkshire.

Dr Speirs is a member of the British Society of Interventional Radiology and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe.
